Hacked: 1985, City Center Building, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Nested: 125 S. Wacker, Chicago, 1987 (probably) to 1997
Mate(s): Jingles (1988-1990); Hubert (1991-1997)
Other: In January of 1998, Harriet was found in Chicago with a broken wing. She was taken to the Lincoln Park Zoo and then transferred to raptor rehab center TRC. Her wing healed and she was released in Minneapolis, MN in August of 1998. Her whereabouts were unknown until May of 2000, when she was found in St. Paul, MN. Harriet was very ill, so she was taken back to TRC, where rehabbers noticed she had an incubation patch, so clearly had been brooding eggs somewhere. The TRC rehabbers spent a long time nursing her back to health before deciding to give her a permanent home at the compound. Unfortunately, Harriet did not do well in captivity, so they had to let her go again in August of 2001. Later that year, she was found again, this time caught in a ventilator shaft in St. Paul. She had a pigeon that she’d killed with her and seemed in good condition. Rehabbers released her again in November, at the State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, Minnesota and that’s the last anyone ever saw of Harriet.
