Do I > have their files? Dossiers? Anything? You are assigned to the FBI International Training Facility in Budapest. You work with your fellow FBI agents who are also teaching there. You are not part of a task force. You are a teacher. You are simply supposed to report your findings on the Hungarian Mafia to the CIA as a courtesy. You can request dossiers on your fellow FBI agents. I'm sure they will think you are paranoid and recommend that you receive psychiatric treatment. Do you want a notation put on your file that you may be mentally unstable? If so, then you can request dossiers on your fellow FBI agents. > With whom am I working in the Hungarian police? Are these Federal > Hungarian agents or local Budapest precincts? Same questions as above > about anyone I might be working with. -- If such people are involved. Local Budapest precincts. The policemen who are taking courses at the the FBI Training Facility. You are teaching them how to fight organized crime. > Who are recieving bribes? What officers have died? Are there leads along > these lines worth investigating? Anyone not taking courses at the FBI Training Facility appears to be on the take. A couple officers who are taking courses at the Facility die. Nothing in common links their deaths except that they arrested suspected Mafia members. A couple of arrested suspects who started to give signals that they might be willing to talk to police spontaneously commit suicide. The only thing in common between these suspects is that they all had in their possession at the time of arrest a small gold pin attached to their lapel. The pin is in the form of a bird with a long plumy tail. > What types of clues? Arrested suspects accidently drop names, especially after they get beaten up by the police. > Do I have other information about this company? Is it public? If so, who > are notable stockholders? Public information on the company is available for gross income, net income, members of the board, names of senior staff members (president, CEO, etc). Notable stockholders are members of the Hungarian Parliament. The company has a gross income in the millions. It does not advertise. It has its own supply and distribution branch. > > Who does Torrence investigate further? > > The Firebird Foundation. As the Firebird Foundation is a privately funded foundation it is not required by any known Hungarian or International law to reveal how it gets its funding, who sits on its directorial board, whether it is non-profit or profit, or make its charter available. There isn't any literature available on how to get a grant from the Foundation. Tax records only show that the Foundation does not make any money. What does Torrence do?
