Sean and I are very lucky to have a lot of very good friends. We
love the diversity of our various groups who we've met through work, school, shared
hobbies and the good ole friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend network. In the
last eleven or so years, things have changed for all of us, but we still
remain part of each other's lives.
Jay, Kay, Hill and Dannon -- Sean and I met
Jay and Kay in 1995. They stood with us in our wedding and we were at
the hospital the day their first child was born. In 2001, they moved
from Chicago to Philadelphia in 2001, so we don't get to see them weekly. However, we
stay in touch almost daily. As of summer 2006, Kay is about to give birth
to a daughter, Dannon. Hill is 5 years old. Jay stopped teaching to
write full-time. Kay is doing her post-doctoral work at UPenn. They are
happy and healthy. Here is Kay's website with
tons of current pictures of their family. They also have livejournals:
this is Kay's and
this is Jay's.
Aftermath -- This is a
group of people brought together, mostly, by working at WWA during the
.com boom. Since 1995, the group has expanded considerably. We used
to go for beers every single Wednesday night, but over the years,
people have moved, started families, taken new jobs, etc.. and we
don't get to see everyone as much as we'd like. There's still a small
core of us, though, that talk daily and see each other weekly. Here is
another gallery.
The Grad School Gang -- This was the class of
2000 for the Anthropology graduate program of the University of Illinois
at Chicago - Teresa, Mark, me, Rahul, Jeff and Dan. They are very close
friends and we get together often Here's some pictures.
I used to have long descriptions of people here, but I'm feeling like
simplifying my life lately, so I'm just going to stick to a few words and
some links. Suffice it to say, I could write many flowery and beautiful
things about all of these people - Sean and I are very lucky to have them
all in our lives.
